Journal for October 12
Fridays are fun because everyone is stuck inside and have to be creative on things to do. We started off studying for our quizzes in Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies. After the classes and quizzes were over the weekend started. Most people wanted to hang out and do nothing in particular.
We started playing boggle which was fun. Made up some new words for the dictionary. Some people were pretty good at finding long words…than there were other people like me. On average I had one or two. Finally I teamed up with someone else so we could beat everyone. By the end people still had higher scores than the two of us put together. We decided that we need to break it up between hard core boggle players and beginner boggle players, or at least practice before playing again. After boggle the boys wanted to watch a movie with fighting. We ended up watching Wedding Crashers. Not exactly an action movie, but it had some funny parts.
I called some friends and family until dinner which was nice. One thing that I’ve noticed is that everything is changing back home. Israel is definitely not close enough to drive for a couple hours to go to a wedding or mission farewell. My best friend growing up is leaving on her mission on Tuesday to Brazil. It was the last time I would talk to her in the next two years which is sad…but I’m excited for her. My other best friend is getting married in November. Everything changes when you aren’t there to witness it.
Later that night we played soccer. Always a highlight of the day. It was the first day after having to sign up for sports which is good because it is the perfect number of people playing. Fun day!
